Glass Veil
GLOWVITAL's overnight hydrogel mask, in a chrome box that mirrors the room and opens into black. We modelled it to the manufacturer's millimetres in Blender, path traced every frame in Cycles, and built this page from the same scene.
It shows the room before it shows itself.
Metallised board, 184 × 162 × 32 mm, with 0.8 mm wrapped edges and a fine embossed grain that only appears in the highlights. Chrome has no colour of its own, so we built the studio it reflects: twelve softboxes the camera never sees.
A mirror outside. Black inside.
A concealed magnetic front flap lets go, and the lid turns on its rear long edge to a matte black lining with GLOWVITAL set in opaque white. The lid's spring is simulated, so it settles the way real board does.
Four sealed sachets on a black ribbon.
Chrome barrier laminate with a cellular crinkle where it pillows, knurled 8 mm seals and a 3 mm tear notch. The portrait art turns 90° into the box exactly as the pack specifies, and a 12 mm grosgrain ribbon lifts the stack.
Two pieces, clear as water.
The two-piece sheet is traced from its source silhouette with every cutout kept, bent to the curve of a face and printed with GLOWVITAL in staggered rows. It is rendered as real transmission: the light passes through the gel.
Turn it in your hand.
The same model, live in your browser. Its chrome reflects a light map we rendered from the film's own studio, so the highlights you drag across are the ones in the footage.
From an empty scene, to the millimetre.
Every part was modelled from the spec, not traced from a render. These are frames from the build log, captured in Blender as it happened.
